FESPA Australia Announces 2nd Colour Management Bootcamp

FESPA Australia is pleased to announce their Online Colour Management Bootcamp to take place on 2 to 4 November 2021. It follows on from the highly successful Bootcamp in October 2020. So, if you missed 2020, now is the time to register for the highly anticipated return of this popular online course.

The online course is over three half days. You will need this time to learn about colour theory and principles, goals of colour management, device calibration, time-tested procedures, newest print standards, spot colours and print verification.

As FESPA Australia President Nigel Davies said, “we received great feedback from the first online course, and several of the participants have now qualified as a PRINTING United Alliance Digital Colour Professional.’

Certified Instructor John Quixley from Fujifilm will facilitate the Bootcamp. John is an industry expert in Colour Management and has a long history in this field. He was first exposed to colour management as the market was moving from analogue towards digital proofing.

John said that “Working at Fujifilm, I’ve learned to constantly identify ways to innovate and add value and seek out opportunities to strengthen the industry as a whole. The goal of these sessions is to develop professionals who understand colour theory and principles and can manage consistent, predictable and repeatable colour on any system they manage. This comprehensive course is designed to further develop the colour management skills of print professionals, graphic designers and prepress team members.”

The outcome of attending this course will be to assist you in gaining control of your colour quality with techniques that cut risk and help you get it right the first time.

If you are looking to understand better techniques for devise calibration, spot colour management and verification, how to use colour measurement instrumentation and profiling software. If so, this course is for you. As a Participant will also learn and discover why colour management is not a theoretical question but a technology problem that you can solve.

Davies went on to say, “we’re constantly learning, and these online courses have been specifically designed to be as interactive as possible with livestream Q&A sessions allowing for immediate feedback”, says Nigel Davies. “The class size is limited allowing students to immediately engage with the instructor.”
